EXAMINING THE SANE EXAM
A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is a certification for registered nurses who have completed specialized education and clinical preparation and conduct sexual assault forensic medical examinations of a sexual assault victim. They undertake an examination that is geared toward the collection, preparation, evaluation, and production of evidence in a sexual assault case. This webinar will include a review the scope of the expertise of a SANE, the assessment of a sexual assault patient, and evidence collection. It also will undertake a detailed analysis of the SANE documentation, and the information that should be included in the report. Inconsistencies, taint and other errors and omissions commonly occurring with a SANE forensic medical examination will also be addressed
This webinar is approved for one substantive, practice and procedure credit hour by the Pennsylvania CLE Board. PACDL is an accredited distance learning provider in Pennsylvania.
